We dance for fun, not perfection or profit!

The Swinging Swallows Square Dance Club has been a registered not-for-profit Ottawa Valley organization since 1987. In addition to our Club Caller, Ron Gardner, we have an executive and a fun bunch of members! We dance most Thursday evenings, September through April.

Our mission is to increase your awareness, interest, and most of all, your participation, in modern square dancing.  Click here to read more about becoming a new dancer.

The internationally approved program ensures that learning is fun and, because the moves can be combined in many different sequences, dancers are provided with  fun challenges – both body and mind!

As well as exercising and socializing, we like to eat and often have snacks while we mingle. We dress up at Christmas and put on a costume for Hallowe’en…at least most do!

Since a square is made up of four couples, we invite you to bring some friends to fill up the square! It is amazing how much fun it is and how easy it is to learn the steps, some of which you may have already done:  left allemande?  do-sa-do?  swing? circle left?  and then there is ‘box the gnat’ ??

We invite you to join us on the dance floor to see for yourself just how much fun and how much exercise it really is!  We need you in a square —  you won’t know you it like until you come out and TRY IT!
